The Honors course pushed me to excel because the classes were intense, and a lot of the work was very challenging academically. You're not in a classroom with people that want to just learn a specific skill. You're with people that are exceeding in their classes, that have high GPAs, that want to take it to the next level and be pushed academically.
There are scholarship opportunities for the Honors program. If you qualify for the Honors program, it's according to GPA and SAT scores, and it's a good amount that ties on to your academic award.
The Honors students' faculty were there from beginning to end to walk us through each course to make sure that we were getting the right credit, to make sure that we were there to do our thesis. They guide us through the entire process. And thanks to them, I was able to graduate with Honors.
So a unique thing that we do here for our Honors students, they have to do a thesis, which then helps them prepare for graduate work or professional school-- PhD level or master's level.
The research was important for my future because you use it everywhere you go. I have used what I learned while doing my thesis to even write a chapter of a book, and I did use it in my daily life.
